Meet Fat Vincent
Eight months ago, “Fat Vincent” the Dachshund was a jumbo-size at 38 pounds. He was unhealthy, depressed and had dangerously high cholesterol.
Vincent had been dropped off at a county animal shelter when his owner died. “He was friendly, but I could barely discern between his laying down and standing up positions. With his short little legs, there was very little clearance between the floor and his chest and abdomen,” his veterinarian Sharon Anderson told CNN.
Because of his lack of energy and massive size, Vincent was constantly passed over by potential adopters.
K-9 Angels Rescue, a fantastic organization in Houston, decided to take him in and turn his life around.
Look at Fat Vincent now! Thanks to his angels at K-9 Angels Rescue, today he weighs just 17 pounds!
With the help of water aerobics and lots of walks, Vincent was able to shed that extra weight.
According to Vincent’s veterinarian, he just needs to lose a pound and a half more to reach his goal. His whole demeanor has changed as well. “He is the sweetest, funniest, happiest guy now,” Anderson told CNN.
Vincent, who now prefers to go by “Skinny Vinnie,” is still up for adoption through K-9 Angels Rescue in Houston.
